The Cork Center, laboratory of the Catalan Institute of Cork, was created in 2001 as a service provider to the various components of the value chain in the cork sector as well as in the wine sector.
In this sense, the experience gained over the years and the incorporation of high-level technical equipment have made the Cork Center Laboratory an international benchmark for providing services to the cork industry. and viticultural, which seeks to promote the quality and competitiveness of companies in these sectors.
The Cork Center participates in technical committees both at national and international level in relation to the sector and in the organization of congresses, seminars and days for the promotion of cork.
The services provided by the laboratory include quality controls (sensory analysis, gas chromatography, microbiology and internal protocol drawings, among others); sample composition analyzes; expertise in case of litigation; the validation of technical innovations introduced by the industry; advice and training.
The Cork Center is an ENAC accredited testing laboratory with accreditation No. 1258 / LE2382 in accordance with UNE-EN ISO / IEC 17025 and is currently the first laboratory to offer the global migration test. accredited for cork stoppers.
The Cork Center also has Accreditation No. 675 and Recognition No. 676 in the Register of Food Laboratories of Catalonia (DOGC No. 5433 -31/07/2009).
