Fostering and controlling quality: The objective is to create a trademark or stamp of quality that boosts the identification of products from the sector with that of maximum quality articles, destined to the higher segments of the market. The actions carried out to attain this objective are: The introduction into companies of management and quality assurance systems. The results are:- 30 cork companies have been awarded the ISO 9002:2000 company certification. - 10 companies in the sector have been awarded the ISO 14000 company certification. - 1 company in the sector has been granted the EMAS certification regarding environmental matters. - 41 companies in the sector have achieved the SYSTECODE Code of Good Practices Standard in which their correct dealing with cork products is mentioned.
